Silentium Defence Appoints Ian Muldowney as Chief Executive Officer, UK & Europe

London, United Kingdom, 22 July 2026

Silentium Defence has confirmed its entry into the UK market with the appointment of Ian Muldowney as Chief Executive Officer, UK and Europe. Ian will lead the company’s newly established regional business, working alongside UK and European partners to broaden access to its passive radar and covert surveillance capabilities.

Ian brings more than 30 years of executive experience across aerospace, defence, transport infrastructure and other safety-critical sectors, with accountability for multi-billion-pound portfolios and organisations of more than 7,000 people. He will be responsible for standing up Silentium Defence’s UK and European operations, from governance and regulatory readiness through to the partnerships needed to deliver programmes for customers across the region.

The appointment reflects growing interest among UK and European governments in sensing technology, as allied nations look to close capability gaps highlighted by recent conflicts and the rapid pace of drone proliferation. Silentium Defence’s entry into the region gives UK and European customers direct access to systems already supporting Counter-UAS, Integrated Air and Missile Defence, and Space Domain Awareness missions with allied customers.

Ian’s appointment adds to a period of strong global momentum for the company, which recently surpassed 100 employees worldwide, appointed a Chief Executive Officer to lead its North America business, and opened a U.S. headquarters in Apex, North Carolina.

Ian and Silentium Defence Global CEO Dr James Palmer are attending the Farnborough International Airshow this week. To arrange a meeting, contact media@silentiumdefence.com.au.
